R Modulo Remainder

R Modulo Remainder. In this r programming example, we are using two variables a and b, and their values are 16 and 3. I had read that the remainder or result of modulo operator is supposed to be always positive, but this is not the case in r, and the definition and example provide here explain the logic thats seems to be used.

Remainder when dividing by a scalar. Where a is the dividend, b is the divisor (or modulus), and r is the remainder. The set of integers with the same remainder forms an equivalence class that's sometimes called the residue modulo n. for and integer a and a positive integer b, the division algorithm says that there exists unique integers q, r such that a = b.

Modulo is a math operation that finds the remainder when one integer is divided by another.

R's binary and logical operators will look very familiar to programmers. That is exactly what mod n refers to. The example below shows the usage of modulo(%%) operator in different scenarios. In this program, you will learn how to find the remainder without using a modulus operator in r.
